Well I’ve finished the green creek series.
I’d say every book is 10/10. I do have one note.
But before that let’s get the sells for the other books.
Wolfsong: A boy finds his found family and his destiny. A true journey of a life a fantastic masterpiece. Heart break and joy. Truly you learn to adore the boy as much as his found family.
Ravensong: The boy’s big brother/father substitute Is a witch who is rebellious mouthy and heartbroken. This book is angry and hurt but also finding who you really are. It gives a new perspective on book 1.
Heartsong: (my fave) The Witches’ father steals a member of the found family’s pack Robbie and it breaks the pack into fractured pieces. The mind fuck of the first part of this book is staggering. I adore Robbie as much as I loved ox tbh. It’s about Robbie remembering who he is and what is the essence of of being a good member of the found family who he loves. Bonus points because the main couple in this one is transcendently beautiful.
Brothersong: The pack’s alpha of all has an older brother. This is the only book from a Bennett’s POV. Hes been a character about the entire time and now it’s time for him to take center stage as he bull rushes his problems but with love and determination nothing will stop him which is good since this ends NOW. packpackpackpack.
Alright time for the note:
I really wish that in brothersong there had been a little more Robbie I mean I get it this is Carter’s time to shine but I wanted him to be loved like a brother for Gordo and Gavin. Felt like the things he did in heartsong were only so that Kelly could have something to yell at Carter about a little disappointing. Robbie liked Gavin and seemed to have some connection which was gone in the end. Also his connection with Livingstone meant nothing in the end either. I think it’s mentioned he stands next to Gavin in one of the last fights? But maybe I’m too idealistic. I was hoping Brodie was going to come live with Kelly and Robbie since Robbie had been a good big bro for the cubs he did seem to like that living at the compound.

✨ BOOK REVIEW ✨
Brothersong by TJ Klune
⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

Book Review candle is from Book of the Wick and you can use SHELVES10 to save 10% at checkout!
This was kind of a disappointing one for me, not gonna lie. My love for this world and all these characters meant that I still enjoyed it, but I found the plot and Carter’s POV underwhelming.
But I LOVED being back in Green Creek with my packpackpack again. The love, the connections between the characters, that’s the beating heart of this series and it was just as strong here.
I did really like Gavin. His journey was my favourite thing about this book, and his relationship with Carter made me so emotional.
I’ll miss these idiot wolves now I’m done with the series, and I know I’ll reread them all again one day.

Oh, how I dream
“I dream,” I said. “Sometimes it feels like I’m awake. And then I’m not.” And he said, “You’re awake now. Ox, Ox, Ox. Don’t you see?” - Wolfsong
“It felt like this was a dream. Like even after all this time, it couldn’t be real. I’d been here before. Dreaming of him. Waxing and waning. Waxing and waning.” - Ravensong
“Do you dream? I did. I dreamed in such sharpness that it felt like reality.” - Heartsong
“I was dreaming. I wasn’t dreaming. I was awake. I wasn’t awake. I was slipping. I wasn’t slipping. I was building toward something I couldn’t name. I was terrified. I was exhilarated. I was losing my mind.” - Brothersong

Howling Good Reads
faThis past Halloween, we were absolutely howling for TJ Klune’s fantasy romance novel, Wolfsong. This story was hair raising, and absolutely wild from cover to cover. It gained such positive traction from October’s book club, we compiled a list of similar titles. If you’re new to the werewolf fantasy genre, we got you covered. Why not go fur it?
1. Wolfsong- TJ Klune
Tumblr media
“You can plan for life, but life always has plans of its own”
This first novel was read for October 2021′s book club, and if you haven’t already cut off a slice of this cake, then you need to get yourself a big helping for sure. The size of this book is intimidating, but it flows with a quick place and easy dialogue. This fantasy novel introduces werewolves and family with a more wholesome approach; not as intimate as other reads. But, the intimacy and love in this found family is something that will make your heart feel full.
Tumblr media
2. Wolf at the Door - Charlie Adhara
This title is similar to Wolfsong in the aspects that it is a werewolf-fantasy novel with undertones of juicy romance, but it is also immensely different. This follows two detectives (one human and one werewolf) as they investigate mysterious deaths and disappearances, while also falling slightly in love with each other. This title follows more of an investigative, mystery with the werewolf-fantasy taking a back seat compared to the detective-romance it has going on. Regardless, this book is a must on your to-read list.
Tumblr media
3. Silenci - R.M Sayan
Silenci is a completely different read than the previous titles. This one is intricate and interesting and darker undertones. It takes place in medieval Spain, where werewolves are treated similarly to the plague. The main character is forced to undergo changes in his life and must overcome obstacles. It is a more intense and heavier read than the other two books. There is soft romantic undertones that leave readers asking so many questions and fearing possible outcomes.
Tumblr media
4. Wolves of Black Pine - SJ Himes
Similarities to Wolfsong are much more similar in Wolves of Black Pine than some of the other titles on this list. Wolves of Black Pine follow a shifter-war (similar to the threats faced in WS) and all the deadly outcomes. There are so many parallels to WoBP and WS, from the intricate and harsh backstories of abusive pasts, to a subplot of fate bringing two lovers together in the most unlikely of circumstances, this title will have you clinging to your seat. Another benefit of this title is the intricate world building that fantasy titles thrive upon.
Tumblr media
5. Shiver - Maggie Stiefvater
Although it is a young-adult title, this read is not light by any means. The writing style may be less complex with a quick pace to it, but the story has dark and complex undertones that gave it place on this list. This fantasy title is emotional where romance belongs, but that does not make it any less action packed. The action and combat in Shiver are fast paced with an intensity that rivals Wolfsong’s.
Tumblr media
6. Moon Called - Patricia Briggs
Moon Called has a much more surreal fantasy feel to it than Wolfsong. This title follows more mythological creatures giving it a much more completed fantasy role. It follows a headstrong mechanic character that rivals WS’s stubborn Ox. It is a determinedly quick paced read and never is there a dull moment. The flow is quicker even than Wolfsong.
Tumblr media
7. Green Creek Series - TJ Klune
One of the best things about TJ Klune is his ability to produce such a fantastic cast of characters you feel obligated to read more about literally all of them. So far, TJ has three other full length titles that follow Wolfsong, and three other short stories. Each of these titles give new perspectives to other members of the Green Creek wolf pack in as much detail as the first. They are just as easy to digest, although all full length novels rival the size of the first. Honestly, it’s 100% worth it.

Brothesong - Book Review
Tumblr media
Title: Brothersong
Author: TJ Klune
Online Rating: 4.53/5
Personal Rating: 5/5
Warning(s): Sexual content, Gore, Death, Murder, Blood, M/M, and Supernatural beliefs.
Pages: 522
Summary: In the ruins of Caswell, Maine, Carter Bennett learned the truth of what had been right in front of him the entire time. And then it—he—was gone. Desperate for answers, Carter takes to the road, leaving family and the safety of his pack behind, all in the name of a man he only knows as a feral wolf. But therein lies the danger: wolves are pack animals, and the longer Carter is on his own, the more his mind slips toward the endless void of Omega insanity. But he pushes on, following the trail left by Gavin. Gavin, the son of Robert Livingstone. The half-brother of Gordo Livingstone. What Carter finds will change the course of the wolves forever. Because Gavin’s history with the Bennett pack goes back further than anyone knows, a secret kept hidden by Carter’s father, Thomas Bennett. And with this knowledge comes a price: the sins of the fathers now rest upon the shoulders of their sons.
!Spoilers!
Review:
Absolutely WOW! I was waiting THREE MONTHS for this book to come out (even pre-ordered the damn thing) and I was not disappointed!
It ended exactly where I wanted it to end and was played out perfectly. I thought the whole book was going to be Carter searching for Gavin and I’m SO glad it really wasn’t. Every piece of the action was split up perfectly. And everything was wrapped up in a perfect bow.
I don’t want it to be over! Please bring us more 😍😩
-
Main characters review-
Joe:
Our little tornado and mate to ox.
“Lightening.”
Our little boy that smells like lightening and is described as a tornado. From the first book In the very beginning, I saw him as this adorable little boy who has a HUGE crush on the boy next door. To find out he’s been through more trauma then any little boy should ever have to go through.
Then he meet Ox... 😍
Out of all the characters in all four of these books, I think Joe loved the fastest and the HARDEST. And in the end of this book, he gave even more proof to that fact. He sacrificed everything he’s ever known and everything he ever knew he needed to be for Ox.
He became a man and a true alpha within three years. He became a true friend to those who didn’t trust him in a year. He became a loyal brother in 13 months. He became a survivor and someone who will fight through anything for his family in not just another year, but his whole life. And in the end he got exactly what he wanted: Family, love, and friendship that will last forever. And most importantly, he found peace.
I will miss reading Joe’s story grow and how much his love stretched. He may not be the Alpha of all anymore, but he is exactly where he’s always wanted to be.
Ox:
“Candy canes and pinecones. Epic and awesome.”
Mate to Joe, and tether to Joe and Gordo.
He was told he would get shit all his life and that he would be nothing, but a dumb little boy. But ohhhhh his father was wrong wasn’t he?
Ox has grown from Joes mate, Joes teacher, human alpha, alpha, alpha of the omegas, and now the reincarnated alpha of the Bennett pack.
He has learned and taught so much is just a 7-8 year timeline. He has changed so much as well. He’s changed peoples views on life; he’s changed the meaning of pack and family; he’s changed the ways of everyone’s way of love.
He truly is werewolf Jesus 😂
I could say so much more about Ox, but we all know how special he is. ❤️🐺💜
Gordo:
Mate and tether to Mark, as well as witch for the pack.
“Dirty. and Leaves. and Rain.”
Damn this man is so FUNNY! Every time he has a scene I’m laughing at something.
This character I see in the book as the one who’s changed the most. But mentally and physically (well physically sadly). R.I.P his hand and the raven 🥺 He had a long journey to go through to get where he is today, but I’m glad he had so much time to get there. He needs those ups and downs to become the man he has become. And I’m glad I got to read about it.
I’m so happy he got what he wanted in the end even if he didn’t know he wanted it for a long time. Mark. Family. Pack. And Love.
Mark:
Mate to Gordo and second to Ox.
I didn’t get a lot from Mark. Well as much as I wanted at least. Yes he has a whole book with Gordo, and he was the first to meet Ox (out of the pack), but besides always giving advice I didn’t really get much out of his character. He was the second for Ox and Gordon’s mate. That was him.
What I do remember though, and this always stuck with me, that he ALWAYS loved Gordo. Even after Gordo rejected him, and it was years after leaving Green Creek he still loved him. Gordo was a difficult person to love and stand in the beginning, but Mark did both and never let go of that. I can’t see anyone else besides Mark being with Gordo, and for that I think he’s a great character.
Kelly:
Robbie’s mate and tether to Carter.
“Grass. Lake water. And Sunshine.”
The sweetest man I’ve ever read about! 😊
He’s always been so caring and never gave up on ANYTHING. Especially for his pack. I always thought he would be a good second for Joe, but I understand why Carter got that title instead.
He also was very surprising. I never thought he would be asexual especially since he had a mate and always seemed like he was making fun of people about sexual stuff 😂 It was a good surprise though. The author made it known that just because someone’s asexual, doesn’t mean they are ANY less of a person or wolf then anyone else.
Kelly is definitely one of my favorite main characters (behind Ox and Carter). Even when he was human, he never gave up hope on anyone and he was still part of the pack pack pack! If it wasn’t for Ox and Joe having such a perfect backstory in their relationship, Kelly and Robbie would be my favorite couple 👬
I was skeptical if I would like their book too, but in the end it became one of my favorites out of the series.
Robbie:
Mate to Kelly.
“Home.”
Our little wolf 🐺❤️
For such a small character in all the books except one, he’s been through a lot. Having his mother killed, getting his memory taken away, never really having a pack of his own till the Bennett’s...
Even though he doesn’t seem like one, Robbie really is one of the strongest characters of the series. Maybe not physically but mentally and with stuff he’s been through definitely.
As I said in Kelly’s review, his and Kelly’s relationship was definitely one of my favorites. They care about each other so much to the point he lost his memory, but still cared and loved Kelly so much. He deserved to be in the pack even without Kelly being his mate. He’s kinda like the finally piece of glue they all needed to stick together❤️
Carter:
Mate to Gavin, tether to Kelly, and Joe’s second.
“Thump. Thump. Thump.”
“You fill my lungs and burn me on the inside.”
My absolute favorite character 😍
He’s strong, loyal, loving, funny, and well... CARTER! From the first book I knew this character would be something special and having the final book all about him proved that.
Carter has watched his pack be destroyed then be pieced back together multiple times. He understood what pack meant before any of his brothers understood and what it meant to be a big brother right when Kelly was born. To protect them with everything he can.
I wasn’t expecting Gavin to be his mate from the first book and maybe even in the second book I was skeptical. But, Gavin ended up being exactly what Carter needed. Someone to show him he’s not alone 💕
Gavin:
Mate to Carter and brother of Gordo.
“A forest untamed. Untouched.”
With only two, really one if we’re being honest, books of him being in human form, he’s transformed the pack into right where they all wanted to be. Together.
Even though he was lost for a long time he finally found his place in the world with Carter’s help. He’s tough, brave, and a hard person to get his love from, but damn does he have a lot to give.
He sacrificed himself to his father for the sack of his pack. He sacrificed himself for his mate, Carter, even though he kept calling him stupid 😂
“Thump, Thump, Thump.”
That’s what got him into the pack. Carter’s heart was what he wanted and what Gavin focused on. Keeping  him alive and protected. Which added to another amazing trait for him. Loyalty🔒
Elizabeth:
Carter, Kelly, and Joe’s mother. Mate to Thomas (RIP).
Our queen 👸
If I could imagine Lizzy as a real person, she would be drop dead gorgeous. She loved her pack, loved her husband, and loved her sons with every bone in her body. She not just beautiful on the outside, but has a beautiful soul to match ❤️
She always gave the best advice even if her pack didn’t know they needed it. She may have fell out of her ways when her husband died, but she was still there to fight with her pack when her heart was still broken. This women will be praised her whole life and viewed by me as an amazing mother, wife, and friend anyone could have and want.
Thomas:
Last Bennett pack alpha before Joe. Mate to Elizabeth.
Even though he was only really alive in the first book, he was constantly referenced to and envisioned throughout the book series. To me, Thomas was viewed as the packs hope. Every time anyone was down or needed someone to talk to and tell them exactly what they needed, he showed up to be that hope.
He died to soon, but even when he was gone he was still a important character for the series and will be missed by his pack forever.
Jessie:
Ox’s ex-girlfriend, and Dominique’s mate.
She went from Innocent and not-knowing to a bad ass bitch! She was one of the characters that grew the most to me. If you remember, the pack didn’t what anything to do with her in the beginning of the first book. But now she’s part of the human faction of their pack.
Jessie  has a straight shot, a bad mouth, and a cocky attitude, but she was always truthful. She was the part of the pack that would never sugar coat the truth. And a lot of times, they needed that.
Dominique:
Mate to Jessie.
She may have not been a big character, but I felt she was in her own way because of Jessie. She ended up being Jessie’s mate and a part of the pack. Omega to Beta in two books. She didn’t have a lot of page time, but she still was a important character because of her loyalty she had for the Bennett pack even when she was still a omega.
Chris & Tanner:
Mates to each other.
Weird situation there, but we just go with it. LOL
I added these two reviews together because they basically are the SAME person. The only difference is that Chris and Jessie were siblings, but Tanner and Chris were mates in the end. To be honest, still confused about that... but still think it’s adorable.
There bond represents friendship for the pack. They didn’t need to be sexual involved with each other to become each other’s mates, just the undoubtedly love like brothers they had for each other was enough. They fought like hell as humans for the pack, then they fought even harder as wolves for the pack till the very end.
Rico:
Fiancé to Bambi, and now wolf to the Bennett pack.
He literally DIED for the pack! If that’s not loyalty, I don’t know what is!
Rico was part of the Chris, Tanner, and Gordo “squad.” Out of the four of them, Rico was the most stylish (that’s what he said 🙄) but also the most understanding. He forgave Robbie even after knowing he basically was the one who killed his best friends (even though it technically wasn’t his fault AT ALL). Rico’s character represented forgiveness in the third book. And in the fourth book he represented fatherly love because of his new baby boy with Bambi.
Bambi:
Fiancé to Rico.
This brings us to the next bad ass bitch... Bambi.
Her name may sound sweet, but she will kick your ass if you even look at her wrong. She’s another part of the human faction of the pack and I think one day will be Rico’s mate. She also will gladly give you a smack down if you need it 😂
Robert Livingstone:
Gavin and Gordo’s father.
I decided to review this character at the very end because as much as we don’t want to admit it, he was very important for every book of the series.
He was hidden in the background in the first book. Finally made an appearance in the second book and we got a backstory. Was covered up as someone else in the third, but also became a scary MOTHERF***ER. And in the end got what he bloody deserved.
But with that all being said, he was the villain of the story the entire time. Even if they pack didn’t know it yet, Robert was going to be the person (that if possible) that would be their down fall. But with the Bennett pack, never expect to come out alive after the fight.
-
Negatives:
Repetitive with mentioning past situations. I felt like Joe’s story alone was talked about 3 times! I understand it was a very big plot twister for everything, but do we really need it explained 3 times? That and Ox’s story was basically talked about in every book. Like you don’t even need to read the first book to know what happened to him 😂
During the fight scene (at the end), I wish there was more detail for it. Like, how did they not see Gordo/Gavin's dad right behind Carter? He's a beasts - a big one, as been explained many times by now - so how did everyone around, even on the roofs, miss him? It was also confusing how the author explained where everyone was during this scene. It made my head spin. I wish there was a better layout so I could have imagined it, but it was hard since the author explained everything weird, and it seemed more like Carter was just standing on the side most of the time doing nothing.

Brothersong by TJ Klune review
book 4 in the Greencreek series
Release date of October 13th 2020
I gave it 5 stars :)
Catch me on goodreads!
https://www.goodreads.com/user/show/13064078-breanna
Review below. It’s pretty spoiler free, so you should be good with nothing spoiled! Again, thanks to TJ Klune for sending me this! I was so surprised and so happy.
I’d you’re new to the Greencreek series, do yourself a favor and read them. TJ Klune is one of my favorite authors and writes amazing characters and stories! You’ll laugh, cry, and want to scream.
————
I hate to #collectmythoughts before i could write this review. First off, i want to thank TJ Klune for sending me a early copy of this book. Somehow, i got super lucky and was one of the people to be sent one.
He said, “for you are one of the lucky to hear the song of wolves, to have them say your name as if you are the moon that pulls at them.”
This book made me laugh. It made me cry. Which, is usually what Klunes’ work seems to do, the Greencreek series in particular.
This book is Carter and Gavin’s story. Gavin, the wolf who followed Carter around for years, only to be revealed as Gordon’s brother and Livingstones other son at the end of book 3. Also, at the end of book 3, Livingstone takes Gavin, who gives himself away to protect the Bennett pack.
But, since the Bennett’s are all self sacrificing idiots, Carter goes after him.
What follows is their story, together, and returning home for the war that is about to start
This wasn’t my “favorite” in the series, that belongs to Wolfsong, but Klune did an amazing job of tying up the lose ends in this story, and adding some elements that were new.
New info is revealed about fathers and Thomas in general, but Thomas has always been a favorite of mine. He was a father that loved all of his sons fiercely, and did the best that he could, trying to protect them (Ox included).
I really do think you guys are going to love this one. It completed my heart in a way a TJ Klune book only can.
Here’s to Greencreek.

Aro book review: Brothersong by TJ Klune
This is book 4 in the Wolf Creek series, a series where each book focuses around a different couple in a werewolf pack. I decided to read it after hearing about how it 'featured a qpr'. That's not really an accurate thing to say about it, though.
The two characters (Chris and Tanner) don't even turn up in this book until almost halfway (they are side characters in the other books as well, but this book is where their relationship could be called a qpr). And when they do turn up, they're still rather background.
One of the things I generally struggled with in this series was the soulmate-like thing the werewolves have going on. What happens in this book is that Chris and Tanner realise they are mates and accept their bond, but they don't get together romantically (like all the other pairs of mates). Tanner is aro but Chris isn't, and the one thing I did like about the portrayal of their relationship is that it wasn't just shoving aro characters off together while alloro characters all have romance.
Having a qpr be a minor part of the story is of course not a bad thing, I was just given high expectations by other people's excitement (ugh). But what I really didn't like was how the other characters treated their relationship.
It's never actually called a qpr - not that it needs to be, you can absolutely have non-romantic relationships that aren't qprs - but it instead just gets made fun of by the other characters as a weird thing that no one understands. Someone even says 'straight people are weird' about it (most of the characters are queer). Even though Chris and Tanner are perfectly happy, it never felt like the other characters respected their relationship.
This isn't to say I hated these books. If you want to read a romance series about various m/m couples, this series should appeal. But if you want to see a qpr that isn't just a background thing for the other characters to laugh at, there are much better places to be looking.

Book List Time!!!
And with that I have 10 give or take books to discuss. Now I’m up to over 30 books since May woooo telling tumblr about each one has been a great motivator so I hope my reviews and list help people out in a non spoiler fun way. Gonna rank these in order I want to reread them.
1. Green Creek the series by TJ Klune 🏳️‍🌈🐺🌶️🌲 Wolfsong Ravensong Heartsong Brothersong I am obsessed. Literally read all four books in 3 days. I have bought physical copies and marked them up. Will make you cry, laugh, and stay in your heart forever. Just……. Go read it. But the quick synopsis is Powerful Humans Wolves Witches have to pay for the sins of their fathers over and over again while maintaining their found family and finding their true soulmates. There is Ace Lesbian non binary rep in here as well.
2. The Warden by Daniel Ford🏳️‍🌈 👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩🧙‍♀️❄️🪦truly a fantasy masterpiece the romance isn’t the focus but it’s fucking good. First sapphic book to get a 10/10 for me. About a witch(with a magic system that is interesting surprising) growing up and finding herself a family without sacrificing who she is. I loved her and at first you think ehhh is this going to be boring no definitely not. Was surprising made me laugh and cry. Can’t wait for part 2 cause more of the hot gf in there I hope.
3. A Taste of Gold and Iron by Alexandra Rowland🏳️‍🌈👑⚔️🌶️🌶️ I listened to this book two times in a row I enjoyed it so much. It’s a bodyguard and prince story. The prince’s depiction of depression anxiety panic attacks was so real. The bodyguard is very endearing. The themes of family are strong and interesting. The mystery was easy to solve but I found it rewarding because I wanted the prince to win so badly haha.
4. Spindle Splintered by Alix E Harrow🏳️‍🌈👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👸🏼🥀😢
Short story about a dying girl who has a special interest in sleeping beauty. It does have a…. Debatably Sad ending. I did enjoy it for what it was trying to talk about. I lost a friend when she was too young. I’m glad I read it.
5. Scumbag Villains Self-Saving System series by Mo Xiang Tong Xiu 🏳️‍🌈🚩⚔️😈🕊️🤓🌶️? I’m putting it up this high because besides that scene in chapter 21 that slapped me in the brain I really enjoyed the series. Only Danmei I HAD TO GET THE REST OF THE SERIES IMMEDIATELY Hell I’ve even now written fan fic for the side ship. About a Nerd being put into his favorite love to hate stallion novel (story about a hero who fucks his way to success) but he’s in there as the abusive villain who the hero is destined to kill. The nerd has to save himself and unintentionally builds himself a harem featuring the most red flag the hero who so sololy motivated by the nerd. It’s great easy to read very fun. But 🌶️ scene in book 3 is a definite skip and delete from memory.
6. Case File Compendium Vol 1 by Rou Bao Bu Chi Rou 🏳️‍🌈? 😈🚩🩸🕵️🥼
I did just finish reading this so maybe I’m bias but I really did find it a book I couldn’t put down. I even brought it with me to work to read a chapter during my lunch breaks. Main characters are heavy in their homophobic lifestyles but they kiss and protect each other? True crime and mentally ill characters. MC is has a fatal mental illness that makes him unstable and MIL was his former private doctor. MC is trying to date MIL’s little sister. While getting up to shenanigans they stumble into a corrupt hospital and evil forces are maybe after them?! Idk its exciting fun to read but only if you like 🚩’s
7. The Disabled Tyrant’s Beloved Pet Fish Vol 1 by Xue Shan Fei Hu 🏳️‍🌈🐟👑🎨🖼️ I did genuinely laugh my ass off during reading this book. It was incredibly easy to read I think I finished it in 4 hours. Very cute. I love the inside and outside art. About a nonverbal Prince who has anger issues and his crush on the modern man who is trapped within an ugly little fish. Now yes the Prince is becomes actively in love with the fish. Lucky for us we are stuck in the man who is trapped as the fish’s pov and he is genuinely just trying to get back to his world by obeying the powers that be System’s prompts to go home. Fish is not trying to seduce the Prince or anything. It’s just funny I had a great time with vol 1 probably will read vol 2.
8. So Let Them Burn by Kamilah Cole 🏳️‍🌈👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👨🐉🏝️ while having dragons and diverse cast it ultimately falls short of expectations wishing for more depth and clarity. The asexual spectrum representation feels muddled and Jamaican inspired cultural elements are unexplored which is at odds with its rich backdrop that could have enhanced the story. The story’s mystery element lacked cohesion resulting in a frustrating bittersweet ending that suggests a sequel and left me unsatisfied. I won’t read the next book. Won’t suggest it.
9. Faithless Book2 by C L Clark 🏳️‍🌈🚩👩‍❤️‍💋‍👩⚔️👑😩 a big let down from book 1 but I’m locked in for life I guess. Luca is back in France navigating a way to get the crown. While Touraine shows up with a priest and Teen to some how get food for her people. Most of the plot feels useless both MC characters are stupid and do no growing. The new teen character was interesting. I disliked the poly romance I didn’t particularly feel comfortable about Touraine and Luca why not add another person in what could go wrong? Luca’s reign as Queen looks to be very bad and you will feel extremely disappointed at the end. I’m going to read the next book but only because I like the characters who didn’t go to France.
10. Self-Made Boys by Anna-Marie McLemore.
I read 90% of this book and I regret it. It’s a trans characters as the leads gay retelling of the great gatsby. I was truly excited to read it I’ve read The Great Gatsby many times. However this book just laughs at the source material. I’m tempted to say maybe the Chat GPT’d the plot and didn’t ask for any over arching themes in the book. I couldn’t do it I’m gonna have to find a better trans representation book in my next set of ten.

book review || So We Meet Again by Suzanne Park
24 hour readathon -- So We Meet Again, Seafire, Brothersong
~Thanks to Netgalley for providing a digital ARC of So We Meet Again in exchange for an honest review. ~
After reading Park's last romance, which had all the girl power and empowering women feels, but not much romance, I was hoping she'd learned and lean more on the romance this time around. While she did do that! I was still disappointed in the results, however.
Although the title, summary, and marketing around this book calls it romance, this is more 50/50 with a contemporary about women in the entrepreneurial world. That's a fine space to be in, I'm all for shattering the glass ceiling, but don't promise me one thing and then not deliver it.
Not to be completely negative, I do enjoy Park's writing. This story did have me chuckling quite a bit. I loved the descriptions of food and watching Jessie create her own business (although, as someone with a business degree, I think it was a bit unrealistic, but that's a me problem). Watching Jessie stick it to her old company for underestimating her? Fantastic. Seeing her relationship with her mom improve was also so precious. I loved seeing the shift in Jessie's perception of her mom as the story went on. Also, the main romantic trope was enemies to lovers and we all know I love that.
While the enemies to friends shift was pretty smooth, the switch to lovers felt much more abrupt and caught me off guard. There was fantastic sexual tension between the two leads, but it was never followed through with, which annoyed me to no end. Every time it seemed like we were heading in that direction, something would interrupt them.
The drama that took place between the two halfway through the book actually made sense, even if it was based on miscommunication, so I couldn't be too angry about that. Even once they come back together though, we were still left hanging, as there's only a fade to black scene. (I'm learning that I really don't like clean romance books, apparently)
The synopsis of this book, also! It literally details everything that happens! Maybe don't do that moving forward, because it made for a very predictable story!
In the end, my issue with this book was the same as Park's first Adult Romance, which is it shouldn't be marketed as a romance because it's totally misleading to what the main story is about. The main focus of this book isn't Jessie finding love, it's in her creating a career she enjoys and improving herself.

Book: Lovesong & Feralsong Series: Green Creek (Book 2.5 & 3.5) Author: TJ Klune Ratings: ★★★★★ (5/5) Recommendation: If you like novellas that give more insight
Synopsis:
Lovesong
She has lived. She has lost. Everything she has is blue. But here, in the end, she’ll be given one last chance. A gift for all she has endured. And her lovesong will be heard.
Feralsong
After Heartsong and before Brothersong comes Feralsong, a short story from four different perspectives about what it means to lose your mind.
My Opinion:
Lovesong was beautifully written and I love that it gave me insight into Thomas and Elizabeth.
Lovesong also had me in tears at the end!
FERALSONG WAS AMAZING!! I’m so happy we got 4 different perspectives!
I loved getting to see Joe and Kelly’s thoughts, especially since we got to see their partner’s in the other books. I’m so happy it focused on family for them and we got to see how Joe is a bit jealous of Carter and Kelly’s relationship because I always wondered about that.
Carter’s POV was short but got me HYPED for Brothersong. But getting Gavin’s POV!!! I AM NOT OKAY! I NEED BROTHERSONG NOW!!!!

Book Review: Brothersong
~ Warning! Minor Spoilers! Book Review: Brothersong (Green Creek #4) by: T.J. Klune ~ REVIEW I preordered Brothersong last year, but I didn’t read it in 2020; knowing that it’s the finale of one of my favorite book series, ‘Green Creek,’ I didn’t feel ready for the devastation. I decided to pick it up as my first physical book in 2021. Sadly, I have to admit that Brothersong let me down. The…

So…I’m sitting here after reading this EPIC book and wondering how I’m going to put into words all the emotions I’m currently feeling. This Book. These Characters. This Series. This STORY.
It took me through the wringer and left me hollowed sometimes. But, even at the lowest of lows, when I thought I couldn’t read on, this mad genius of an author sprinkled enough heart, love and humour to give me…
